Jesus Christ is the answer to absolutely everything! He has to be or He isn’t the answer to anything.
If I do not learn to think this way, I am always going to have problems. Why? Because the devil is a liar and outside Jesus there is nothing else to choose from but lies. To live in fear is to live outside of Christ and to live outside of Christ is to live in a lie.
As a new creation in Him, I cannot have a problem. I could not have a problem because Christ does not have a problem. Christ is not a problem. He is the absolute solution to everything. God, the Father, saw to that!
Christ is my life--all of it! I do not have a life of my own. Christ is my total life. For me to live is Christ!
To not believe this is to be tormented by fear and doubt. Fear and doubt are of the devil. He is the one who caused Eve to question the truth of God’s Word in the garden. He always wants to cast doubt upon the Word of God. I am not going to lay claim to something that is not of God.
A believer is not born of a lie, but of the truth. The Bible says that no lie is of the truth. A believer is of God. Because I am a believer, I am of the truth. If something is not of the truth, it is not for me. “Of His own will begat He us with the Word of Truth…”--James 1:18. Jesus said, “If you continue in my Word, you shall be my disciples and you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”--John 8:31-32
A lie does not set you free. A lie will put you under bondage. Jesus didn’t come and die to bring bondage, but freedom--freedom from the liar.
The Bible says, “Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”--Gal.5:1. For freedom Christ died. God has not given us the spirit of bondage again to fear. We have not received the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. We have the mind of Christ.
It’s very simple: Freedom comes from Christ, bondage from the devil, faith from Jesus, fear from Satan. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.
Jesus completely broke the power of the devil on the cross once and for all! That’s why the Father sent Him.
Galatians 1:4 says, “Who (Jesus) gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from this present evil world according to the will of God, our Father.” We, if we are a believer, are delivered. God, the Father, wanted us delivered so He sent His son.
To live in fear is to not live in Christ and to decline the life Jesus died to give to all who believe on His name. To live in fear is to refuse the freedom of the Spirit of God. There is no fear in God. God does not fear! Fear has no dominion over me because Christ is my life and Satan has no dominion over Christ--it’s the other way around.
Fear was the power of Satan and Jesus has completely broken the power of Satan. If He did not do this, then there is no such thing as salvation. The Word says, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” --I John 3:8. Fear is the work of Satan. I have no intention of living as a subject of the devil--he is finished! How do I know this? Jesus said on the cross, “It is finished!!” His death completely set me free from the power of death and of Satan.
Hebrew 2:14 says, “Through death Jesus destroyed him that once had the power of death, that is the devil; and delivered those who through fear of death were all their life time subject to bondage.”
We in Christ are not subject to bondage. The devil has been paid in full. We are completely free of him. We are as free as Christ is free. “Because the Son has made you free, you are free indeed.”--John 8:36
Everything is done in the Son!
